Quiche Lorraine

Recipe makes one 9-inch quiche (4-6 servings)

Whatcha Need

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of nutmeg (optional)

Whatcha Do

  1. Preheat oven to 375℉.
  2. Fit the pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate and crimp the edges.
  3. Scatter the cooked bacon evenly over the bottom of the crust, followed by the shredded cheese.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until smooth.
  5. Pour the custard over the bacon and cheese.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly browned.
  7. Let rest 10–15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

A partially pre-baked (blind-baked) crust will give you a crisper bottom.

This is just as good warm or at room temperature.
