Quiche Lorraine
Recipe makes one 9-inch quiche (4-6 servings)
Whatcha Need
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Whatcha Do
- Preheat oven to 375℉.
- Fit the pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate and crimp the edges.
- Scatter the cooked bacon evenly over the bottom of the crust, followed by the shredded cheese.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until smooth.
- Pour the custard over the bacon and cheese.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly browned.
- Let rest 10–15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
A partially pre-baked (blind-baked) crust will give you a crisper bottom.
This is just as good warm or at room temperature.
