Wacky Cake

Recipe make one 8x8-inch cake (9 servings)

Whatcha Need

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 5 Tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 Tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cold tap water

Whatcha Do

  1. Preheat the oven to 350℉.
  2. In a 8x8-inch baking dish, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Make three holes in the flour mixture. Pour the oil in one hole, the cider vinegar in another, and the vanilla in the last hole.
  4. Pour the water over the top. Using a spatula or wooden spoon mix all of the ingredients together to form a batter. Smooth out the top to ensure batter is evenly distributed.
  5. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let cake cool completely. Remove from the pan, dust with powdered sugar, and serve.
