Granny’s Green Jell-O Salad
My granny used to prepare this easy-to-make salad every time I visited because she knew it was one of my absolute favorite of her dishes. It was also her go-to-dish for church dinners, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other special occassions. I hope you enjoy it, too.
Recipe Makes 6-8 Servings
Whatcha Need:
- 3 ounce package lime-flavored Jell-O
- 1 can crushed pineapple (15.25 ounce can)
- 1 cup of Cool Whip
- 1/2 cup small curd cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Whatcha Do:
-
Drain pineapple well, saving the juice.
-
Mix Jell-O according to directions on the box. Use the pineapple juice as the liquid, adding enough water (if needed) to make up amount of cold liquid stated on the box.
-
Refrigerate for about 1 hour, or until half-set.
-
Remove from refrigerator and add in the Cool Whip, cottage cheese, chopped nuts, and crushed pineapple. Mix until very well incorporated. Chill for at least two hours before serving.
