Buttermilk Griddle Cakes

Gary Cooper

Gary Cooper was one of Hollywood's most popular cowboy greats much like Gene Autry and John Wayne. Growing up on his family's 7 Bar 9 Ranch in Helena, Montana gave him an advantage when it came to acting in western movies. Cooper also starred in non-westerns such as A Farewell to Arms, and For Whom the Bell Tolls. In 1961 he won two Academy Awards for his roles in Sargeant York, and High Noon. This recipe originated with Cooper's mother, Mrs. Charles Henry Cooper, who served these silver-dollar sized pancakes regularly at the family ranch.
